I&#8217;m James Fenimore, and today we\u2019ve got a real treat for you. I\u2019m joined by Kevin Wargaming. Kevin, how are you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>So far, so good. Great to be here. Thanks, James.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>I love that. It would be bad if it <em>wasn\u2019t<\/em> great to be here, right? So, Kevin, I\u2019ve got one simple question for you: How are you living your faith?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>Man, I love the question. It\u2019s funny because last night I was thinking about this\u2014what a topic, what a conversation. At first, when I booked this, I thought, \u201cOkay, what are all the things I\u2019m doing right? I\u2019ll just come in with that.\u201d<br>But last night, let\u2019s just call it the Holy Spirit\u2014I\u2019m a Christian, I believe in Jesus Christ, I believe He died for my sins\u2014He got ahold of me and said, \u201cWell, how good are you really at this?\u201d And I wrestled with that. Honestly, it was kind of a sleepless night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My wife is out of town, so I\u2019m running the household these past few days. In the middle of the night, my daughter comes in with a bloody nose. She\u2019s screaming, crying\u2014it\u2019s a big deal for her. I\u2019m trying to help her, telling her, \u201cPlease, settle down. I know what\u2019s best for you. Let\u2019s work through this together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And suddenly I thought, <em>Oh\u2026 that\u2019s it.<\/em> I love her so much. I know what\u2019s best for her. She\u2019s rebelling, she\u2019s scared, she doesn\u2019t understand. And it hit me\u2014<em>I wonder if that\u2019s how the Lord sees me sometimes.<\/em> Not frustrated, but loving me, guiding me, knowing what\u2019s best even when I\u2019m resisting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when I think about how I\u2019m living my faith, it comes down to this: I need to get out of the way. I need to let the sanctification process take root\u2014get quiet, listen, and really try to hear what the Lord is calling me to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>Wow. That\u2019s really profound. How do you live that out? What examples can we share with the audience to help them get out of their own way, too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>Sure. There are areas where I\u2019ve grown over the years, and areas where I\u2019m still right in the middle of the struggle. I was saved in 2010, baptized in 2012, and for a long time, things went <em>really<\/em> well.<br>Then everything seemed to hit at once: I lost a great job, my stepfather\u2014one of my best friends\u2014passed away, my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s, and even my dog died. It was a season of loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But through that, I learned that sometimes things are removed from us so we can know God more deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, thankfully, things are going well again. But I\u2019m trying to carry forward the habits I had during the hard times: praying more, reading Scripture, looking for things to be grateful for\u2014even when it\u2019s tough.<br>These days I pray over my wife, my kids, and I carve out time in the morning to be quiet\u2014turn off the news, turn off the noise, and just be with Him. I\u2019m not perfect at it, but I\u2019m intentional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in my business\u2014as a consultant and coach\u2014living my faith means being selective in who I work with. I spend real time with potential clients before money is ever discussed. They don\u2019t have to be Christian, but our values need to align. If I\u2019m going to help someone grow in influence and success, I want to be confident it\u2019s used for good, not harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>Right\u2014you\u2019re not going to empower someone to go take advantage of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>Exactly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>I respect that a lot. Discernment matters\u2014in our walk with the Lord and in everything else. I also love what you said about the noise of the world. So many people struggle with that right now.<br>Do you find it difficult? Any tips or practical tools to help people tune out the noise?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>I could talk about this for an hour, but I\u2019ll give you a few things. Our pastor says, <em>\u201cFocus is a superpower.\u201d<\/em> I remind myself of that often. So here\u2019s what we do:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The phone goes in a drawer, literally, when I\u2019m working deeply or spending time with my kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We limit the news in our home. I think one of the worst ways to start your day is turning on the national news. It\u2019s ten minutes at most in our house, and even that\u2019s rare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I spend ten minutes each morning in silence.<strong> <\/strong>After prayer and Bible reading, I sit quietly. No input. No noise. We\u2019re not wired for constant bombardment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those are just a few of the things we practice consistently as a family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>If people want to find you and learn more about your work, where can they go?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kevin:<\/strong><br>The easiest place is the website: <strong>mymentorsllc.com<\/strong>.<br>The business is called My Mentors LLC.
