I\u2019m James Fenimore, and joining me today is a very special guest\u2014T. Shard\u00e9. T. Shard\u00e9, how are you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T. Shard\u00e9:<\/strong><br>Good morning. I\u2019m doing well\u2014thank you so much for having me today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>Thank you so much for joining me. I have one simple question for you: how are you living your faith?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T. Shard\u00e9:<\/strong><br>That\u2019s a great question. I live my faith in a variety of ways on a day-to-day basis. In my personal life, I live my faith by giving myself grace as I navigate being a mom of four and a small business owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also live my faith professionally\u2014through my work with clients in my consulting company and by sharing my story with others, especially the challenges I\u2019ve overcome through faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main ways I do that is through my keynote speaking. I have a keynote called <em>The Perfect Stranger<\/em>, where I share a transformational experience from 2021, when I lost my mother to suicide. In that incredibly painful season, I received an overwhelming amount of kindness, compassion, and love from complete strangers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those moments gave me the strength and courage to keep going. They showed me hope. They showed me the power of kindness\u2014and what it truly looks like when people choose to show up for one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I live my faith by intentionally showing kindness to others, trusting God, and reminding people that we <em>can<\/em> overcome hard things when we hold on to faith and extend compassion daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>I\u2019m so sorry to hear about your mom. But it\u2019s clear you\u2019ve taken something incredibly painful and turned it into something that\u2019s bringing good into the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T. Shard\u00e9:<\/strong><br>Thank you. It was definitely one of the hardest seasons of my life. But I truly believe that when we face difficult moments and make it through them, we carry a responsibility to show others what resilience looks like\u2014to model grace, kindness, and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we share our stories, it gives others hope. It allows someone to think, <em>\u201cIf she can get through this, maybe I can too.\u201d<\/em> I have the privilege of sharing that journey with people all over the world, and honestly, it\u2019s one of my greatest joys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>If someone is struggling right now, what advice would you give them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T. Shard\u00e9:<\/strong><br>I would give two pieces of advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First\u2014give yourself grace. Every morning, God gives us a fresh cup of grace, just like a fresh cup of coffee. I truly believe that. This is the first time I\u2019ve been a mom of four. The first time I\u2019ve been a wife for almost 15 years. The first time I\u2019ve done many of the things I\u2019m navigating right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God already understands that we\u2019re not perfect. He didn\u2019t come to save us because we <em>are<\/em> perfect\u2014He came because we\u2019re human and we make mistakes. So please give yourself grace. You may not succeed on the first try, or the second, or the fifteenth, or even the fiftieth\u2014but don\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second\u2014share your story. There are people walking through something very similar to what you\u2019ve experienced. Your story\u2014how you overcame something big or small\u2014might be exactly what someone else needs to hear to keep going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\u2019s a life-altering loss or even a small parenting win, don\u2019t keep it to yourself. Sharing what you\u2019ve overcome could truly be the thing that changes or even saves someone\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>I love that. As we wrap up, I have one final question. How has faith played a role in your willingness to share your story so openly?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T. Shard\u00e9:<\/strong><br>Faith has played a huge role. Losing my mom to suicide forced me to confront a lot of guilt and questions. I wondered how I didn\u2019t see the signs. How I missed what she was going through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had to have faith in myself and allow myself to be vulnerable\u2014to accept that I didn\u2019t know then what I know now. It takes a lot of faith to stand on a stage and openly talk about those moments, about the signs I didn\u2019t recognize, and about the pain that came with that loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even knowing what I missed, I still step onto stages around the world and share what I learned\u2014the power of kindness, and how one small act can change someone\u2019s life. That takes faith. It takes faith to be vulnerable with people you don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My goal is to help create \u201cperfect strangers\u201d\u2014people who choose kindness without expectation. That\u2019s what I learned through my journey. And I have faith that sharing this message is the right thing to do, and that the words I share will truly transform someone\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I walk in my faith every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>James:<\/strong><br>T.
